Lyndene Nurseries

Lyndene Nurseries has been owned by the Dickinsons for over 30 years.

Small, family-run market gardening businesses were once a common feature of the local area and we are committed to helping keep this traditional way of life alive.

Moving forward, we have adopted a business model that relies as little as possible on fossil fuels by growing seasonally and working only with local customers; we use only peat-free compost and we re-use plastic seed trays and pots year-on-year.

Mike Dickinson

Mike has over 25 years' experience as a traditional market gardener and has helped out all his life, before working full-time from the age of 16.

He has many years' experience in sowing and nurturing young plants and managing crops working with nature by utilising biological pest control and seasonal growing to reduce fossil fuel use.

Margaret Dickinson

Margaret joined Mike at Lyndene in 2022 after working for over 25 years in agri-environmental advice and management of designated sites.

As well as working in the nursery, she undertakes consultancy work.
