Mission
We purchased Birds' Nest in 2023, to create a peaceful retreat that is discretely adapted to help people in the early stages of degenerative neurological conditions (or just less sprightly than they used to be) enjoy their holiday.
The simple, single-storey layout; firm-but-comfy seating, with good back support and range of aids to make everyday tasks a little easier, blend in with the coastal-themed decor, to create a cosy, cottage feel that is cheerful and welcoming.
In autumn 2024, we will be working with a local bathroom designer to provide a walk-in wet-room with a shower and seat.
Christmas and Easter weeks are not available to let, as they are reserved for families in the Gatehouse of Fleet area who need the ground-floor accommodation to welcome loved ones at these times. We wanted to give something back to the local community, who made Margaret's Mother so welcome when she enjoyed her holidays in the area while living with Alzheimer's
We are also privileged to be working with the Give Us Time charity, offering breaks to armed forces personnel and their loved ones.
